The Final Conference of Emp-H Project was held on March 10th, 2018 in Biella (Italy) at Città Studi.
An anticipation of the results of the research based on four risks factors: smoking, alcohol consumption, sedentary behavior, unhealthy diet, carried out within the Emp-H Empowering Hospital Project was presented on Saturday 10th March. The project co-funded by the European Commission through the program HEALTH 2014/2020, is promoted by ASL Biella with the full involvement of La Fè Hospital of Valencia (Spain) and the National Association Multiple Sclerosis (Lithuania), supported by the Università del Piemonte Orientale (Italy) and Dublin City University (Ireland).
“Europeans live longer, but often not in good health.- underlined the General Director of ASL Biella, Dr. Gianni Bonelli, during his welcome speech - We strongly believe in the value of the project that promotes health prevention because we are convinced that there is the need to intercept those wrong healthy behaviors, which, if neglected, could become chronic. I think that the results obtained can be a valid starting point, also with a view to revise some assistance paths that could be more tailored for patients, not only inside our hospital setting but above all outside the Hospital, at community level".
The introduction of Dr. Bonelli was followed by the presentation of the video message of Dr. Vytenis Andriukaitis, European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, that wanted to congratulate the organizations involved in the project and the pilot research results obtained on health promotion.
After the “PRESENTATION OF EMP-H PROJECT CONSORTIUM” (session 1), participated by Dr. Angelo Penna, Chief Medical Manager ASL BI, Dr. Patrizia Tempia Valenta, Clinical psychologist and responsable for Health Promotion Centre ASL BI, Dr. Lucas Donat Castelò, project manager Instituto de Investigatión Sanitaria La Fe of Valencia, Dr. Aldona Droseikiene, President Lithuanian Multiple Sclerosis Union, Dr. Alessandro Coppo, Researcher University of Piemonte Orientale, Dr. Davide Susta, Researcher Dublin City University, the Session 2 “PRESENTATION OF EMP-H PROJECT RESULTS”, was chaired by Prof. Fabrizio Faggiano (University of Piemonte Orientale).
Anticipations about the EMP Model, the Profiling tools, the final Handbook were presented by Dr. Alessandro Coppo (University of Piemonte Orientale), Dr. Davide Susta (Dublin City University) and Dr. Maurizio Bacchi (ASL BI).
In the afternoon the Session 3 was dedicated to the “ROUND TABLE: BEST CASES AND EXPERIENCES ABOUT HEALTH PROMOTION”, chaired by Dr. Giulio Fornero, HPH Italy Network President.

Committee; Dr. Giuseppe Salamina, ASL TO1 - Referent for Consenso Project (Alpine Space Program); Valeria Romano, IRES Piemonte - Manager of the Project “Sunfrail”- cofunded by Health Program.
The official and final Emp-H video, created together by all members of the project, showed to Conference participants an overview of faces, staffs, volunteers and concerned catchments, involved for 3 years.
